MTN Ghana to introduce 0.75% new charges on MoMo-to-bank transfers from June 1

MTN Ghana has introduced new transaction charges for transfers from Mobile Money wallets to bank accounts, set to take effect on June 1, 2026.

The telecommunications company informed customers on Monday that users will incur a fee of 0.75 per cent on each transfer from a MoMo wallet to a bank account, capped at a maximum charge of GHS 5 per transaction.

MTN Ghana stated that the adjustment is intended to support improvements in service delivery and customer experience.

The new policy is anticipated to generate discussions among mobile money users, especially businesses and individuals who regularly use MoMo-to-bank transfers for commercial transactions, salary payments, and routine financial activities.

Under the revised structure, customers will be charged based on the transaction value, although the deduction on any single transfer will not exceed GHS 5.
