Tullow starts selling Jubilee, TEN crude to Ghanaian refineries

Tullow Oil has started supplying crude oil produced from its fields in Ghana to local refineries as efforts intensify to support domestic oil processing.

The company has confirmed that Sentuo Oil Refinery purchased the first cargo earlier this year.

The crude was sourced from Tullow’s Jubilee and Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) fields.

Tullow’s Chief Financial Officer, Richard Miller, disclosed this during a virtual engagement with investors following the company’s half-year results.

He said the arrangement was reached on commercial terms and described the development as an important step for Ghana’s oil industry.

According to Mr Miller, financing arrangements have also been put in place to support the initiative and make the transactions commercially viable.

He further noted that Sentuo Oil Refinery has become an important buyer of crude produced in Ghana, purchasing oil from Tullow and other partners operating in the country’s oil fields.

The development comes as Tullow prepares to increase its crude oil liftings for the year.

The company expects to lift 14 cargoes in 2026, comprising 11 from the Jubilee field and three from the TEN fields.

This represents two more Jubilee cargoes than Tullow initially projected in November 2025.

Tullow lifted six cargoes during the first half of the year and expects to lift eight more in the second half.

The company said the increased local sale of crude could strengthen the link between Ghana’s oil production and domestic refining as efforts continue to improve refinery operations.
