Akyem Oda: Police restore calm after violent cutlass clash leaves two with deep cut

The Ghana Police Service has successfully restored order in Akyem Oda following a violent altercation involving a group of young men armed with cutlasses at the New Station area.

According to the Eastern South Regional Police Command, the disturbance came to light after a viral video surfaced showing the young men openly attacking each other with cutlasses.

Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene to restore order. However, by the time security personnel arrived, two injured suspects had already been taken to separate health facilities for treatment.

One of the suspects, identified as George Okyere, 30, was found at the emergency ward of the Oda Jubilee Hospital with a deep cut on his forehead and one of his right fingers severed.

Another suspect, Paul Pascalele, was receiving treatment at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital after sustaining a deep cut on his right hand.

Police further disclosed that a third suspect, Evans Adayele, was later arrested at his hideout to assist with investigations.

The command said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the incident for further investigations and possible prosecution.

Authorities have assured residents of their commitment to maintaining law and order in the area.
