GES releases financial support for 2026 WASSCE practical exams: easing the burden on parents and schools

The Ghana Education Service has formally announced the disbursement of funds to all Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools nationwide to cover the costs associated with the 2026 WASSCE practical examinations.

In a statement issued on April 21, 2026, by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES management noted that this initiative is designed to ensure that all scheduled practical exams are fully supported.

The funding will provide for:

• Required materials for various practical subjects.

• Essential resources needed for the examination period.

• Administrative support to maintain high standards.

A primary goal of this release is to facilitate a smooth and well-coordinated examination process. By providing these funds directly to the schools, the GES aims to allow students to focus entirely on their academic performance while relieving parents and guardians of any additional financial burden related to practical fees.

The GES has also issued a strong directive to regional, district, and school authorities, urging them to ensure the "due application of the funds for their intended purpose."
