Ghana Medical Trust Fund strengthens collaboration with Health Directors ahead of rollout

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is strengthening its efforts to establish strategic partnerships nationwide in preparation for its official launch, engaging key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.

As part of this initiative, the Fund has been holding meetings with Regional Directors of Health across the country to enhance their understanding of its mandate and emphasize their role in ensuring its success.

At a high-level meeting held at the Ghana Health Service headquarters, Director-General Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea commended the Fund for its efforts to improve access to healthcare nationwide.

He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration between the two institutions to ensure seamless coordination.

Prof. Akoriyea also welcomed ongoing developments under the initiative, particularly the construction of modern cardiology centers in Kumasi, Tamale, and Accra, which are expected to significantly enhance specialized healthcare delivery nationwide.

The Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed appreciation for the continued support from the Ghana Health Service and called for even closer collaboration to deliver critical healthcare interventions to Ghanaians living with conditions covered under the scheme.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is expected to play a key role in expanding access to quality healthcare, with stakeholders expressing optimism that sustained collaboration will help improve health outcomes and ensure no one is left behind.
