Ghana signs MoU with Google for Education to advance AI-driven learning

The Honourable Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has formally executed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding between Ghana's Ministry of Education and Google for Education.

This partnership aims to accelerate the seamless integration of Artificial Intelligence into the country's education sector.

The agreement was signed with the Global Managing Director of Google for Education, Kelvin Kells, and is anticipated to bolster digital literacy, augment teacher capacity, and foster innovation in classrooms nationwide.

According to the Ministry, this partnership forms part of Ghana's overarching strategy to modernise teaching and learning through cutting-edge digital technologies and equip students with vital 21st-century skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Education Minister described the collaboration as a transformative milestone that reinforces the government's commitment to leveraging technology, innovation, and global partnerships to enhance educational outcomes.

He noted that this initiative would facilitate the preparation of Ghanaian learners for the future of work while ensuring that no child is left behind in the digital age.

The agreement also positions Ghana as a forward-thinking nation seeking to harness the potential of AI and digital transformation to establish a more inclusive, competitive, and future-ready education system.
