Let Raymond Archer come and arrest me” – Baffour Awuah dares EOCO

Manhyia South MP and lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah says he will appear in court today despite being declared wanted by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Baffour Awuah challenged EOCO Executive Director Raymond Archer to arrest him when he appears in court, insisting he is ready to face the agency.

He accused EOCO of abusing state power after he intervened in a case involving his client, Salomey Bafoo, a woman from Techiman Hansua.

The MP said he acted to protect what he described as the fundamental human rights of his client, whom he described as a poor woman with three young children.

He also defended people who allegedly helped him leave the scene during an earlier confrontation, saying assisting him to avoid what he described as an attempted abduction could not be unlawful.

Baffour Awuah further alleged that an EOCO official assaulted his colleague, Afuaqua, leaving him with a bruised eye. He said they had advised him to lodge a formal complaint.

Despite the controversy, Baffour Awuah said he would not be intimidated and would continue defending his client until the case is resolved.
