Mahama rings Nasdaq closing bell

President John Dramani Mahama has rung the closing bell at the Nasdaq Stock Market in New York, using the occasion to promote Ghana as an attractive destination for global investment.
The ceremony on Wednesday, September 23, came as part of Ghana’s efforts to deepen its economic and business ties with the United States.
Mahama was also featured on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square with the message: “Ghana Is Open for Business.”
Speaking after the ceremony, the President said the event provided an opportunity to showcase the economic relationship between Ghana and the United States and explore greater opportunities for businesses in both countries.
He said Ghana’s participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly also offered a platform for a focused discussion on investment and ways to strengthen economic cooperation with the US.
Mahama added that his government was continuing efforts to restore macroeconomic stability, improve public finances and rebuild confidence in the Ghanaian economy.
