NACOC arrests several suspected drug traffickers in Accra, Oti raid

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has conducted a large-scale anti-drug operation across parts of the Greater Accra and Oti regions, resulting in the arrest of several suspected drug traffickers.

In a statement released on Facebook on Monday, May 18, NACOC revealed that the intelligence-led operation was part of its nationwide campaign to combat illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse.

The Commission targeted known drug dens in areas such as Kisseiman, Dome, and Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region, and retrieved quantities of suspected narcotic substances and other incriminating materials.

A separate operation was conducted at Alavanyo in the Oti Region, where additional suspects were arrested and suspected drugs seized. The operations aim to identify and dismantle criminal networks involved in the distribution of illegal drugs, particularly in densely populated urban communities.

The suspects arrested during the raids are currently assisting with investigations pending prosecution.

NACOC reaffirmed its commitment to combating the growing drug menace in the country and warned individuals involved in the illegal drug trade to desist or face the full rigors of the law.

The Commission also assured the public of its resolve to continue working tirelessly to identify and clean up criminal networks linked to illicit drug distribution across the country.
