NADMO clears road at Achimota Golf Club after heavy rains brought down tree

A large tree fell at Ataala Junction, near the Achimota Golf Club, following heavy rainfall on Sunday morning, causing a temporary obstruction along the road.

In response, officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) promptly intervened and commenced cutting the fallen tree into smaller sections to clear the roadway and restore traffic flow.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) also participated in the operation to ensure public safety in the area.

Authorities identified several aged trees in the vicinity for pruning as a preventive measure to mitigate the risk of similar incidents occurring during future rainfall. The incident resulted in damage to a roadside signpost and an electricity transformer.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertook repairs to replace the damaged transformer and restore normal power infrastructure in the area.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
