Majority MPs Unhappy With Government Performance but Afraid to Speak — Hon. Akwasi Konadu

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Hon. Akwasi Konadu, has alleged that some members of the Majority in Parliament are not satisfied with the performance of their own government but are afraid to openly voice their concerns.

According to him, while some Majority MPs privately acknowledge challenges in the government’s performance, they are reluctant to speak publicly for fear of political consequences.

Hon. Konadu made the comments while expressing concern about the current state of governance and the need for members of Parliament to be courageous enough to hold the government accountable.

He argued that Parliamentarians have a responsibility to speak the truth and raise concerns when government policies and programmes are not delivering the expected results.

He maintained that constructive criticism from within government should not be viewed as disloyalty, but rather as an important part of ensuring better governance and protecting the interests of Ghanaians.
