Ghana to Appoint New Coach by Monday – Sports Minister

Youth and Sports Minister Kofi Adams has announced that the Black Stars will appoint a new head coach by Monday, April 13, 2026.

This development comes after months of anticipation and the departure of Otto Addo, who stepped down after his stint with the national team.

In a recent interview on Channel One TV, Adams revealed that discussions with the shortlisted candidates are almost complete.

"The process is at its final stage, and we are wrapping up a few remaining details. If not by this weekend, then by Monday, we should have an official announcement," Adams said.

The search for a new head coach has been critical for Ghana as the team prepares for the World Cup.

With only a few engagements left to finalize the appointment, Adams remains confident that the new coach will have enough time to prepare the team for the global stage.

"We have come very far in this process. The new coach will have ample time to build a solid squad and strategy for the World Cup," Adams added.
